6 Christmas Decorating Tips for RV Camping
68Are you going on an RV trip this holiday season? You don’t have to leave all of your favorite holiday decorations behind when you hit the road for the holidays! Here are a few tips for sprucing up your recreational vehicle and campsite with holiday decorations during the time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day!
6 Recreational Vehicle Christmas Decoration Tips
1. Deck the Awning
While you don’t have much hall to deck when you’re camped out in a recreational vehicle, you can certainly dress up the awning with a string or two of Christmas themed party lights. They’ll help you enjoy the spirit of the season while also providing light for you to enjoy.
2. Display a Miniature Christmas Tree
Place a miniature Christmas tree on the dining table or countertop in your RV so that you can enjoy a little Christmas cheer while you’re relaxing in your camper. Be sure to decorate the tree with a few RV and camping themed ornaments as well as a string of miniature indoor holiday lights!
3. Frame Doorways and Windows with Garland
You can brighten up the inside of your RV by hanging garland on the outside of your doorways and windows.
4. Hang Stockings from the Hardware
While your RV doesn’t likely have a mantelpiece to use for hanging stockings, you can make do by hanging a few stockings from cabinet knobs and handles. Choose the cabinets that you use the least so that the stockings won’t be in the way. Alternately, loop a strand of ribbon through the end of your stockings and tie them to your camper’s closet door handles.
5. Show Santa the Way with a Holiday Flag
While it’s not a good idea to attach a flag pole to the side of your RV, you can stake one in the ground at your campsite. Whether you use a small garden flag holder or a full size flag pole, you’re sure to bring the holiday spirit into your campsite when you hang a Season’s Greetings flag.
6. Outfit Your Pooch for the Season
Since many RV enthusiasts travel with pets and decorating space is really at a premium, you may want to go so far as to decorate your pooch a little for the season. Don’t go too far with this idea, and keep your pet’s safety and comfort in mind. You can get your pet a Christmas themed collar or attach a pretty holiday bow to her regular collar, or help her keep warm with a Christmas sweater. If you really want to go all out, you can get a pair of Grinch dog antlers for your canine companion!

Great ideas.
This is so cool.We just got a camper. I can't wait to decorate
What a unique twist to Christmas celebration . . Rving for the holiday especially if you reside in a local without snow. Love these ideas. Voted up, useful and shared.
These are nice ideas for decorating an RV -- it does take some creativity to make an RV festive. We also put a bright red or Christmas themed afghan on our couch and place a poinsettia in the front window of the motor home. (One thing that doesn't work is taping decorations to woodwork -- found that out the hard way after making permanent marks.) Love the idea of mini stockings hung from out of the way door handles. Happy Holidays!
